Health Curriculum Framework: Submit Your Comment

On Tuesday, June 27, 2023, the Massachusetts Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) voted unanimously to solicit public comment on the new draft comprehensive health and physical education curriculum framework announced by the Healey-Driscoll Administration and Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) on Wednesday, June 21, 2023. The new framework emphasizes the importance of comprehensive, medically accurate, consent-based, and LGBTQ-inclusive sex education.

The public will have 60 days to make recommendations for improvement to the proposed framework and urge BESE to approve the Framework. Following the public comment period, DESE staff will compile all comments and may revise the draft Framework as appropriate. BESE will then vote to approve the final Framework at a future public meeting, hopefully when they reconvene in September.
