Announcing!

The Ward 4 Dems Scholarship Program recognizes student leaders in 9th and 10th grade.

Applications for the 2024 program will open in January.

Do you live—or attend school—in Boston’s Ward 4? Are you involved in community programs and projects that make life better in your neighborhood? Do you have a story of personal resilience to share?

The Boston Ward 4 Democratic Committee invites you to participate in the Ward 4 Dems Scholarship Program. We will be honoring several students with awards of $400 each at our summer community event in August. To apply, students will submit short written responses to two essay questions in the language of their choice; the essays will be judged for depth and originality. Students must be currently enrolled in 9th or 10th grade.

Ward 4 schools include Boston Latin School, Melvin H. King South End Academy (formerly William McKinley South End Academy), and Winsor School.

Ward 4 includes parts of the Back Bay, Fenway, and South End. Find your ward.

The Scholarship Program is not open to relatives of Ward 4 Committee members or associate members. Previous winners are not eligible.

Application deadline: TBA
